November 2024: As of now we still have no hardware for these. Once it arrives it will still take a month or two to get the leather cut, shipped out for hand sewing and returned. If and when we ever get these done again this page will be updated at that time.



Exact reproduction of the slings issued with the later "Type 1" FG42Fallschirmjägergewehr rifle. Essentially a modified rifle sling fitted with the snap hook from the MG34/42 straps. Our slings are not the luscious painted water buffalo gems offered elsewhere- these are made with exact reproduction German sling hardware and American leather, embossed with the proper cross hatch pattern. I was able to copy an original FG sling- a friend of mine who owns several of these rifles was kind enough to bring several slings to a show for me to examine, measure and photograph. These differ from the Type 2 slings by being 10" shorter due to the different attachment points on the two types of rifle. The Type 1 slings are 24mm wide x 96cm long.

These are marked "jsd 1942" with the correct WA. ("jsd" = Gustav Rheinhardt, Lederwarenfabrick, Berlin). None of the original slings I have handled had legible maker marks so I chose jsd as they were a very prominent manufacturer of slings (and all manner of leather gear).
