Typical defect

The issue with most or all of these caps is the buttonholes on the flap. They're sewn and/ or positioned incorrectly: they may be too high, too low, too close together, too uneven, or too far from the centerline. The caps are totally serviceable and the flaw(s) are cosmetic.

Yes, if one is a decent at sewing, it is possible to improve things but the repair will always be visible.
