ATF's reproduction U.S. Boots:
We finally found a boot manufacturer who is capable of producing good quality boots for a reasonable price and that can deliver in less than a damned century. Yes, these are made overseas, but not in a mud hut in the Khyber Pass. This is a reputable boot company that makes hundreds of thousands of shoes per year for several name brand retailers.
Pattern/ Design: All types were copied directly from original, mint condition, unissued W.W.II US boots. I paid whatever it took to get unworn (thus un-creased and not deformed) "D" and "E" width samples. These aren't similar. They are dead-on. The comparison pics will be there to prove it.
Sizing: We requested that these be made on an "E" last, meaning they should run slightly wide and slightly large. This is due to my experience in the Army: the wise choice to prevent blisters is to wear cushion sole military or good quality hiking socks, along with a cushioning insole (like sorbathane).

I wear a half size? Will I die?
No. Not due to the boots at least. Order the next size down. For example, if you wear a 9 1/2, then order a 9.
Other sizes???? No. Please read and understand the following:
WE HAVE NO SIZES OTHER THAN WHAT IS LISTED.
WE ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE ANY OTHER SIZES!
No half sizes.
No wides.
No sizes other than what is listed here in the most clear and obvious manner we can devise!
In other words, we DO NOT have 10 1/2, 8 narrow, or 15D. We are not ordering any other size. Sorry, but NO.
Why??? Money! This manufacturer requires that we order a minimum of 100 pairs of any one size. In other words, if you want 7D's.....fine. So long as you will buy the other 99 pairs we'll be stuck with...
Sorry, but sizes 9-12 account for 90% of all orders. This is an enormously expensive undertaking and we cannot afford to invest tens of thousands of dollars in hundreds of pairs of odd sizes of which we will only be able to sell 4-5 pairs per year.

Things we never dreamed of....
1. Yes, these boots are made of leather. Not vinyl, plastic, plether, rubber, kevlar, snipeskin, recycled condoms, fetal tissue or brown toilet paper. Real live leather. Made from real dead animals....
2. Yes, they look like the pictures. Actually, we used the booties from Dragon "Action! Figures" and enlarged them with Photoshop 'cause their detail is so much more exact than ours...Aaaaagh! What the hell else would we use in the pictures? Nikes??? Jesus H.
3. If you don't know your shoe size, we can't figure it out for you.
I suppose you could cut one foot off and mail it to us...? No, your height and hat size won't help us.
