Buttons, Original W.W. II

Note on all buttons: Buttons on US uniforms are not all the identical shade (or color). There were billions made and there are dozens of variations. If you are missing a few buttons on a uniforms, it's unlikely ours will be a perfect match. (Unless it's a reproduction you bought from us.) If you are concerned about a "matching" set, the only way to insure this is to replace all the buttons on the garment.

About M43 Jacket buttons: There has been more stroking over "field jacket button color" than anything else in recent memory. Originals came in several colors. Cross my heart and hope to die. WWII field jacket buttons range in color from dark olive drab, to dark brown, to medium brown, to piss green. Ours are a medium olive drab. We copied buttons directly from an early production (May 1943) field jacket. Sorry if your original needs 3 green buttons. We're not going to have 10,000 buttons dyed all special to match your uniform. There is no one "right" color. Get over it.

Uniform and Fieldgear Hardware
WARNING!

Eyelets, grommets, snaps, rivets and other fasteners usually require proper tooling to be installed properly. "Tooling" refers to dies, punches and presses, not screw drivers and pliers. We are not responsible for damage to anything resulting from installation attempts gone awry. Trying to repair your gear without the proper tooling can often do more harm than good.
Lift-the-Dot Socket assembly:
1 Socket and 1 backing plate.
$2.00
Lift-the-Dot post assembly:
1 Post and 1 washer. Setting dies required!
$1.00
Important notes about Lift-the-Dots: These are genuine Dot fasteners made by the Scovil Co.. Installation of the post requires a setting tool and dies! The dies alone are $80. (We don't sell them)
To properly cut and fit the socket assembly the same tool but different dies are needed. I realize that many of these (especially posts) are intended to replace damaged or missing parts in original gear.
However, when the post assembly has been ripped out of the canvas, a new post won't help! It will simply fall out of the hole. The item is at this point, pretty much hopeless.
Army Wire Hanger:
Wire hook sewn onto canteen covers, shovel covers, etc, etc used to attach gear to the pistol or cartridge belt. New production. Each $2.50

Helmet Liner Rivets and snaps:
We do not offer any of the rivets for US liners or the snaps for the paratrooper liners. Don't snivel at us. The reasons are due to previous experience.
1. Installing them requires a press and special dies, which cost $200-$300, and we are not a tool distributor.
2. No, we won't tell you where we order them from, because they must be purchased in lots of 10,000. (Why can't I order just 8 for my helmet?)  The aggravation that would be visited upon the fastener supply company would probably result in them shooting us at the first opportunity.
We tried this with helmet paint years ago and ruined our relationship with the paint company.

That's why the answer is NO.
